Little Forest Folk
Little Forest Folk sessions provide a safe, engaging and natural place for children to explore.
Little Forest Folk is the name we give to our Forest School sessions for younger children, offering mindful time in our beautiful woodland to explore, play, create nature crafts, learn to use tools and share time around the campfire enjoying stories songs with friends.

Following the Forest School ethos we and chid led play, we offer a multitude of opportunities for litto lead their own play and develop their own natural curiosity and interests in the natural world. Our woodland has plenty of opportunity to stimulate imaginative play in our mud kitchens and café, fairy garden, dinosaur world, den building area, music station and digging area.

There is also plenty of opportunity for physical development on our balancing beams and strap line, working together on the see saw and fun to be had on our swings and also relaxing in the hammocks.

The children can paint or draw on our woodland easel and there is always a craft to do together using tools and other resources, linked to the story or the children's own interests.

We will always gather around the campfire under our parachute canopy for snacks, a story and even some songs, including our Little Forest Folk version of Wind the Bobbin Up!
My Son & I have been coming to Cheshire Forest School every Friday since the end of June 2023 … it’s by far the best toddler group I’ve been to! Caroline who runs it is fantastic, she engages all the children with her themed sessions, every week is different & all the crafts she puts on are always well thought out & varied. Lots of free play & areas designed for children to explore & use their imagination. Also there’s opportunities for the little ones to learn valuable skills - using tools (under supervision) to create things to take home! At the end of each session we gather to toast marshmallows over a fire, drink hot chocolate & listen to a story which is all in keeping with that week’s theme. We sing songs together/the little ones are given instruments & sometimes parachute fun too which is always a hit! My Son is a very outdoorsy little boy, he loves coming here each week, meeting his little friends & I too enjoy catching up with the Mums who are all very friendly. It’s such a lovely environment to be in. Caroline has created a very special place indeed! Forest school is a highlight of our week & we will continue to come for sure! Seeing how happy this group makes my Son is just wonderful! Highly recommended!
